It’s Summer. Minivan time.
And Pacifica looks better and better.

Three bits of news for 2017 Chrysler Pacifica, which continues to gain accolade after accolade.

Named Best Minivan in Popular Mechanics’ Automotive Excellence Awards

To select the award winners, Popular Mechanics editors drive all the relevant class contenders over the course of the year, then pick the vehicle that they feel transcends the competition.
“Over three decades, Chrysler has refined the category it invented, arriving at the current standard for minivan excellence,” said Ezra Dyer, automotive editor at Popular Mechanics. “The Pacifica looks sleek and low-slung without committing the unforgivable minivan sin of trying too hard. Other vans have disappearing third rows, but the Pacifica can hide its second row, too, instantly transforming from luxury people-mover to capacious cargo van.”
As the original creator of the minivan more than 30 years ago, Chrysler has transformed the segment with firsts – notching 78 innovations through the first five minivan generations. With the introduction of the all-new Chrysler Pacifica and Pacifica Hybrid, Chrysler adds 37 minivan firsts to its portfolio for an unprecedented total of 115 innovations in the segment, including the industry’s first minivan available as a plug-in hybrid electric vehicle.
The Pacifica Hybrid takes this revolutionary vehicle a step further with its class-exclusive, innovative advanced and class-exclusive hybrid powertrain. It’s the first electrified vehicle in the minivan segment and achieves 84 miles per gallon equivalent (MPGe) in electric-only mode and 33 miles of all-electric range.

Expands lineup with Touring Plus Model
“The 2017 Chrysler Pacifica arrived in dealerships a year ago, and in that time, it has both resonated with our current minivan customers and brought new minivan buyers to the brand,” said Tim Kuniskis, head of Chrysler’s passenger car brands. “The addition of the new Touring Plus model to the Pacifica lineup builds on this success, delivering another option to meet the needs and price point of more customers.”
Pacifica Touring Plus model includes features like a power liftgate, three-zone automatic temperature control, premium fascia, projector headlamps, LED tail lamps, fog lamps, second- and third-row sunshades and universal garage door opener.
Pacifica Touring Plus is available in dealer showrooms now. With the addition of the Touring Plus model, the 2017 Chrysler Pacifica lineup consists of six models: LX, Touring, Touring Plus, Touring-L, Touring-L Plus and Limited.
Chosen “Family Car of Texas” by Texas Auto Writers Association

The Pacifica Hybrid took one of the top prizes as the Family Car of Texas at the Texas Auto Roundup hosted by the Texas Auto Writers Association (TAWA) at Circuit of The Americas (COTA). The Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid also received Minivan of Texas, Green Car of Texas and Best Feature (Hybrid powertrain).

”The 2017 Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid minivan was the clear leader for one of our top awards, the Family Car of Texas,” said Nic Phillips, President of TAWA. “As the industry's first electrified hybrid minivan, Chrysler has taken not only this family vehicle but the entire plug-in electric class to a whole new level. The Pacifica is loaded with high-tech features that make it easy to connect, charge and maximize the efficiency of the vehicle, not to mention offering the safety features and technology that every family deserves."
