Hold your breath, we’ve got a Hellcat.
Indeed, we do. Barnett has a 2016 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat in stock, and what a vehicle!
For starters, it’s the most powerful production sedan on earth—actually, the most powerful muscle car ever—with an available 6.2L HEMI generating up to 707hp with 650lb-ft torque. For perspective, that’s seven more horsepower than a $400,000 Lamborghini Aventador. In other words, this simply is a classic American muscle car, an icon reborn.
Come see it while you can. As you can tell from the photos, there’s a serious “wow” factor going on here.
Peek at the instrument panel and you’ll see a 200mph speedometer, making is obvious what Hellcat is all about. It’s crazy fast, the manual doing 0 to 60mph in 3.9 seconds, and running the quarter mile in 11.8 seconds.
It is not, however, your father’s muscle car. While it does have imposing power, style, and attitude, it comes with technology to match. Standard features include a premium auto system with subwoofer and 18 speakers, an 8.4-inch touch screen display, GPS navigation, Harman Kardon GreenEdge amplifier, HD radio, integrated voice command with bluetooth, Media hub with SD, USB and auxi;iary ports, 5-year subscription to Sirius XM Traffic, one-year subscription to Sirius Satellite Radio, Uconnect 8.4 NAV and access with a one-year trial, and SRT Cluster with 7-inch driver information display.
The Challenger is a two-door coupe, bigger than Ford Mustang and Chevrolet Camaro. A diversity of models and a variety of engines means you can choose a car that’s a comfortable daily driver, a dragstrip battler, an outrageous Hellcat, or a colorful reminder of the past. Choosing from 11 available colors makes things even more interesting.
The new Blacktop Appearance group is available, with black accents and available Plum Crazy paint. The Hellcat also has Laguna leather for its interior.
Exterior design follows patterns from the classic original Challenger, launched back in 1971. Challenger has always been known as the largest American muscle car, intensifying its road presence. The modern version is more touring coupe than raucous plaything. Vigorous but comfortable, it delivers a surprisingly supple ride. Like its competitors, the Challenger has a rear-wheel-drive layout with independent rear suspension.
Safety ratings score well, too. The National Highway Traffic Highway Safety Administration gives the 2016 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat a five-star rating overall, with five stars for side impacts and four for frontal impacts.
