Since its civilian
inception, moving from the military fields to the highways in 1945, Jeep
has been touted for its unique, but useful style.
The 2014 Jeep Wrangler Dragon Edition will continue that tradition of uniqueness that has crossed all generations.
Jeremy Korzeniewski of AutoBlog.com writes that the Dragon will bring some exciting new features to the Wrangler brand.
"'The dragon symbolizes strength and power and is an inspirational character normally associated with royalty and good fortune,'" said Jeep, and that apparently equates to a blacked-out Wrangler Unlimited with bronze satin gloss highlights inside and out, along with big dragon decals that start on the hood and run down the fenders. There are 18-inch matte black wheels with a bronze outer edges, and a dragon-emblazoned spare tire cover completes the look." (1)
After showing the Jeep Wrangler Dragon design concept at the 2012 Beijing Motor Show, and apparently receiving "tremendously positive feedback" from Jeep enthusiasts, the automaker has decided to produce the Dragon that will hit U.S. showrooms this fall with a price of $36,095.
The Wrangler Dragon will come in all-new colors to Jeep as well as many of the popular ones. New colors include Amp'd, Anvil, Copperhead, Flame Red, Granite Crystal and Hydro Blue (Freedom edition only), which join carryover colors Billet Silver, Bright White, Black and Dune.
The Dragon is the newest innovation from the automaker that came out with the J-12 and FC concepts in 2012, both refreshed versions of old model Jeep trucks, and were highly successful selling vehicles.
Looking into the future, Jeep plans to continue its trend of uniqueness and dip back into the truck field.
Bloomberg News reported in March that Jeep President Mike Manley, revealed that the Chrysler-owned brand is planning to extend its range in the near future. (2)
Manley said Jeep fans will finally get the long-awaited Wrangler-based pickup truck in 2016, along with a brand-new, bigger-than-the-Grand Cherokee SUV.??
Moreover, Manley also confirmed Jeep's intention of becoming a player in the smaller B-segment SUV class with plans to introduce the Grand Wagoneer that's been rumored for a few years now.
The innovations continue with Jeep and Barnett Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram will surely be right there to follow the curve. Come visit us in White Bear Lake, MN and see what Jeep can offer you.
